Bishop Loch and Gartloch Ruins
A cloudy summer-morning flight over Bishop Loch, with a little wind to contend with. I also captured the ruins of the nearby former Gartloch Hospital — a subject that may merit a video of its own later on.

29 July 2026
This was a cloudy summer-morning flight at Bishop Loch. There was a little wind about, though it was not too bad, and I was able to spend some time capturing the loch from above.
The flight also took in the ruins of the nearby former Gartloch Hospital. They made an interesting contrast with the loch and gave the outing a second focus beyond the water itself.
Bishop Loch sits within the wider Seven Lochs Wetland Park area on the edge of Glasgow, so there is a mix of open water, wetland and the traces of older development nearby.
I only captured a small part of the former hospital on this visit, but it feels like a place that would deserve its own video. Maybe that is something to come back to at some point.
